The concept of “now” is just that: a concept. How can “now” exist when it has one foot in the past and the other in the future? Even before a mouth opens to perform speech, the brain has formed thoughts into words and words into a sentences. In essence, what one says in the supposed “now” are past thoughts projecting themselves into the future via speech. Why do we even bother with “now” when “now” does not exist?
Present time, precise moments, and present circumstances define “now.” As time moves forward, how can “now” be idle? It defies logic.
Reality is also a concept. If looking at what defines reality we could walk away with the notion that everyone experiences a different reality. A microbiologist or a physicist may not see the world as everyone else. Therefore, their reality would differ based on their being able to see things that most people don’t. We can’t see gravity, but it is there. In addition, gravity can be reproduced where there is little gravity simply by adding velocity. “1- the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them 2- a thing that is actually experienced or seen 3- the quality of being lifelike 4- the state or quality of having existence or substance.
As for god, those in power (past and present) use him/her/them as a tool for manipulation. There has been so much bloodshed in the name of god than there has been for anything else. In the event no one noticed, god blesses Amerika in the form of a bible which indicates favoritism to xtainity. Bah humbug! ~ Arachne ~ 6/13/12
